 Matt and Fliss Hampton met in 2008 when working for National Hunt trainer Philip  Hobbs. Their shared passion for horses and racing had led them to a yard enjoying huge  success, and of course to one another! They were soon both race riding with Matt riding  over 80 winners point to pointing and under rules.  As early as 2009 a national accolade  for stable staff was won, followed by the prestigious Wilkinsons Sword award for Matt’s  race riding achievements. With an eye to the future both Matt and Fliss spread their  wings and gained experience at other yards. Matt fulfilling roles as Head Lad and  Assistant Trainer.  

Marriage in 2017 and a move back to the family farm near Bath, gave them the opportunity to fulfil their long-held dream and ambition of establishing their own yard. The then champion trainer Paul Nicholls, having noticed their talents riding work and schooling at Ditcheat, entrusted Matt with rides under rules including at Aintree. This relationship led to Paul Nicholls supporting their new venture from the outset, which gave them a tremendous start. A keen interest in flat racing inspired both Matt and Fliss to become regular work riders for Roger Charlton and Ollie Sangster. Again, their talents were quickly recognised and both trainers soon became supporters of their business. From these beginnings and with recommendations from jockeys and owners that they met along the way, horses soon began to arrive from Lambourn, Newmarket and directly from the Studs.
